Special occasions can be made more so with the perfect accessories!
Whatever you’ve got going on, let’s work together to create the perfect jewelry for it! Here are some custom-made and special occasion pieces I’ve created for clients and myself. Many of the special occasion designs below are available in the shop! Let’s chat to discuss your jewelry desires!
Summer Wedding – I made this twisted torsade 6-strand necklace for myself. I attended a June wedding and had the dress already for a long time. I went through my existing stock and found colors and textures that complimented the dress beautifully. I made a woven crystal and pearl bracelet and some crystal earrings and I was ready to go! I even found a clutch purse that had the same carnation pink hue!
Indian Wedding – A client was attending an Indian wedding for a work colleague and wanted to have something bright and colorful so as to blend in with their gorgeous color-saturated traditions. She did not usually wear brightly-colored jewelry, but was willing to move outside her comfort zone. I showed her selections I had on hand and my idea for the necklace style (a “Y” dangle drop). I decided on a “split complimentary” color palette and used richly-colored golden yellow, lime green, and deep purple crystal teardrops on antiqued brass chain. Matching chandelier earrings completed the set. She loved the results!
Kentucky Derby-Running of the Fillies – My client in Kentucky attends this annual event every year. If you know anything about the Kentucky Derby, you know they like to “dress up” a little for that! She saw a woven rose quartz and crystal necklace in my shop and requested one in the same design except change out the large crystals for ivory pearls. I made a matching bracelet and earrings as well. Pretty in pink she was!
A Second Wedding – Another client was getting married—her second—and had a dark taupe dress picked out. She fancied a plum version of a double-strand pearl and flower brooch necklace I had for sale and inquired if I could do one in taupe. She sent me a photo of her dress, I sent her a few sample glass pearls to confirm the color match, and we were ready to go. We even made sure the flower was on the best side for her, as she was going to wear her long hair down and swept to one side. Her taupe set is on the left, the plum is on the right.
Super-size It, Please! – This client loved the chunky rainbow gemstone necklace but wanted one even MORE chunked out! And she wanted it on antiqued copper chain. I showed her samples of stones I was considering, as well as the sample layout, and even “mocked it up” on the chain with scrap jump rings and wire just so she could see “how’s it hanging.” She loved the results!
Tropical Heatwave – Here are two designs that are eye-catchingly perfect for a Caribbean cruise or island get-away, a tropical resort destination, or a luau! Beautifully-colored dyed shell and freshwater pearl layers create two very different looks. With the neon-colored collar, at left, when I found these aqua, coral, and lime green shell daggers hanging in the store display, I picked each one up in succession as I made my way down the rainbow-hued aisle. As I put the aqua and lime green together, it was “wow!”; when I layered the coral in with them, it was “Ka-Pow!” You know it when you feel it, creatively!
I experienced the same “a-ha!” moment when I put the jewel-tone aqua, lime green, and purple baroque pearl strands together and twisted them up. Gorgeous to behold in person!
Gothic Masquerade – Either of these two designs would draw some appreciative looks as you entered the room at a gothic masquerade or Halloween party! Midnight Sun, on the left, is all chains and crystals in a swag chandelier style. Black Rose, on the right, was pulled together with fabric flowers, peacock feathers, antiqued brass chain, green crystals, and deep blood-red beads.
